Headlight Question

Posted By: GoldenBird On: 03-19-2010 @ 13:01:36         Reply | Edit
This is more of a hassle rather than a problem. Whenever its cold out, when I first start the car, the right headilght will not pop up, as if the motor is frozen. Once the car has been on for about 10 min, it will go up no problems. Is there any quick fix for this?

Try spraying some silicone spray on the gear or WD-40 to help it loosen up some. Just a thought.

Just as an FYI, my headlight got stuck in the up position, for the whole week. I finally had time to look at it today. No grinding noises at all. I checked the connector at the motor and there was no resistance. I located the headlight motor control module, simply unplugged it and plugged it back in, now all works fine.

Procedure:
1. First check fuses in control module 1
2. Check headlight motor connection with DMM for power
3. Check headlight control module

I hope this info helps someone in the future.

steelerzfanz, your headlight stop sounds like its broke. The motor needs resistance to know when to stop. If it doesn't have it it will keep going up and down for a bit.
