as far as im concered, as long as your grounds are solid and tight your upgrades shouldnt have anything to do with your ABS. --

You canter tail light could be out also...or loose or something. That sets it off too. Or you just might need to clean the abs sensors.
And worst case scenerio is that the abs unit is going bad and if so, its a $1500 part and I'd be REALLY careful when driving. It happened in my 97 Camaro and it caused me to wreck once and almost wreck several times. What it does is when it starts failing, it pumps the brakes for you. It thinks you are sliding for some reason...even in dry weather. Well if its pumping the brakes, then that means you arent stopping. I had to put the car in the ditch once because of it to avoid hitting people. And I've almost rear ended several people(even at low speeds) because of it. -- 2005 GMC 1500HD 6.0L, dumped true duals - Flowmaster 50 series, 3.73's
One of these days I will buy a 4th gen and NOT run the miles up on it Like they say, 3rd time's a charm.

ABS module is very sensitive to the power feed coming in. If you had a bad connection at any point with the key on or a low battery voltage situation it could set. Clear it out and see if it ever comes back. -- Owner of HBHRacing.com Xtreme performance products

the thing about the brake lights are.... if the center one is burnt out completely, chances are that your cruise control wont work. For some reason some engineer at GM thought it would be a great idea to link the cruise and the third brake light together. to sum it up, I dont think your left brake light had anything to do with your abs. ohya, also disconnected batteries dont really screw anything up other than radio presets. hopefully it was a fluke incident because like what Jeremiah said, this ain't cheap. --

its on today. i am gonna try to get a code from it tomo. will it read a code ? i got no ses light. i was thinking mybe something to do with leaving the batt disconnected and it screwed something up from when i had differential work or something. on rare occassion i get a "brake", and "low trac" light do a quick flicker. it seems as if something is loose or something --

also i notice my batt voltage is alittle before that line after the 13 if it matters. --

If youre so concerened with your battery and youre sure the connections are solid, have the battery and alternator checked. and why didnt you mention you had diff work done? Id look into that. --

take care of your charging system problem. Like I said, the ABS system is very dependent of the power feed being correct. -- Owner of HBHRacing.com Xtreme performance products

i just noticed that when i put the car in park and pull the e-brake the low trac light flashes and it sounds like a click from the front end. when i put my foot on the brake the low trac light stops. what should i do about my charging system ? do u think i should try to get rid of my capacitor or maybe ditch the 4 ga wire from the batt to the alt ? thanx again guys. --

if it was charging ok before, something was not done correctly. Try getting it "mostly" back to how it was but the cap shouldn't be sucking the alt dry when the system isn't running. -- Owner of HBHRacing.com Xtreme performance products

its weird b/c only when i go over a bump the brake and low track light will flicker. then in park if i pull the ebrake and keep my foot on the brake the abs inop light will go off and so will the low trac light. but the moment i let off the foot brake the low track light will begine to flash. can i hook a code reader up to this ? i am gonna fool with the wires today. --

the very very very first thing you need to do is solve teh voltage issue. Don't worry about anything else until then because you will find that they magically disappear once it's fixed. -- Owner of HBHRacing.com Xtreme performance products

I got the same ABS Inop and Trac light problem in my 94' camaro...the clicking is the abs solenoids under the hood. i messed with it for a long time and finally replaced the relay, it worked for about 10 seconds and then started over again....for some reason mine were clicking all the time it was running so i just pulled the relay for the ABS so i woulndt have more problems...car gets hard to stop sometimes though when its wet but its aight becasue i just bought an 02' so the 94' is just a parts wagon now....

Hey, I was just reading your post. I dunno if this will help, but I had a similar experience about a year ago. Apparently, the computer keeps track of you vehicle speed 3 ways: the VSS in the end of the transmission, and a speed for each front wheel. The speed of each front wheel is determined by a Hall effect sensor in the caliper assembly of each wheel. Generally, low track or ABS is triggered when the computer does some math and figures out that the 3 speed readings don't match up like they should. Now, here's the answer to your question. The sensor has something to do with induction and a bunch of theoretical physics stuff like that. Bottom line, the output of the sensor depends on the air gap between it's two parts. This means that the sensor has to be calibrated to give accurate readings. GM decided to make the computer calibrate the sensor when the car's PCM FIRST turns on. It would be smater if they had it calibrate whenever the car is started... but that's life. Anywz, bottom line is try this: disconnect the power from the car for a few hours. Plug the power back in, follow the idle re-learn procedure, and all should be right again. You might also notice this problem if a tire shop bumps the sensor assembly when changing rims or tires...

Hummn can't believe I missed this thread before. He said he upgraded the wiring. By the sound of it and his problems he didn't hook the body ground back up tightly. I had this problem with mine when I hooked up a gauge. I used the ground body post under the hood and didn't tighten it back down right and everytime I would go over a bump the abs inop and brake light would cycle on and off. By past reading the abs inop and brake light cycling on and off is almost always an insecure ground. --

I have this problem now... when i get to a speed above 50mph, the light comes on, and while driving down the road with the windows down, i can hear what sounds like a rotor that is rubbing in one spot on the pad. but then it will go away. i don't know what is going on, i am a little worried though that my abs will make me crash into a ditch like that one guy. -- 1993 Z28 white with black hard top, black zr1 rims, rebuilt LT1 with powerforged pistons, forged rods, forged crank, LT4 top end with hot cam.

yeah, it stopped, well the noise did, but when i get on it, and get up into 4th gear, and let off, my car shakes like NO OTHER... i have polyuro-gay motor mounts which suck and make my car vibrate badly, but this vibration feels likes its coming from the back... and its only when the engine compression braking... -- 1993 Z28 white with black hard top, black zr1 rims, rebuilt LT1 with powerforged pistons, forged rods, forged crank, LT4 top end with hot cam.
