The most popular is the free one, where you just rotate the gear so you use the unused half. The other fix is to buy brass gears for it. --

If you have RKE, they'll flip up and down when you lock/unlock too. Replace/rotate the gear and the problem will cease. --

I got the aluminum one because it was cheaper and it also comes with a metal brace which is supposed to keep the cover from coming unglued. I just did this yesterday. wasnt too bad. took about 30 minutes to take out. this was on a 96 model.
