I know Harlan already said it, but for effect:
It's the headlight gear, common problem with several fixes. The most popular is the free one, where you just rotate the gear so you use the unused half. The other fix is to buy brass gears for it. --

The parking light thing is a biproduct of the stripped gear, the headlight switch doesn't have anything to do with it. If you have RKE, they'll flip up and down when you lock/unlock too. Replace/rotate the gear and the problem will cease. --

just rotate the gear it takes all of 10 minutes to do both sides. i just did this on my 95 and now they both work as they should. 10 minutes a phillips head and a 10mm thats all you need.

Where do you buy the brass gears?
I hate my gears. I have already flipped them a year ago and now both sides are stripped.

I got mine from RodneyDickman.com. I got the aluminum one because it was cheaper and it also comes with a metal brace which is supposed to keep the cover from coming unglued. I just did this yesterday. wasnt too bad. took about 30 minutes to take out. this was on a 96 model.

Isnt this much easier to do on pre 98 models? I remember it being a pain in the arse to flip the gears.
