Do O2 simulators work?

Posted By: BadBrad On: 05-16-2008 @ 10:14:04         Reply | Edit
...and how good? i am thinking into the future for my next mod...which might possibly be doing a straight through pipe and o2 simulator...if it works good enough.

also, wouldn't i need 2 of these buggers?

1 cat = 1 02 sim.

a performance gain would be nice from an electronic part that costs less than $75 but i am not that stupid!! haha, kind of like buying the resistor off ebay to shove in the mass air sensor
and f*ck the computer all up

i just want to make sure they don't mess up the computer in anyway... all they are is an IC chip that oscillates a voltage. i could make one for like $10 or less and then put it in a small square box (ice cube size) and fill the box with silicone.

there are probably websites that tell you how to do this too.

the guy might understand the electrical side of the project be he doesn't very welll grasp the automotive side of it. there are a lot of problems with his design and use.

yeah, i noticed...like for instance, his hook-up schematic still has the original O2 simulator hooked in. his design, as is, really could only be used to adjust the leanness or richess of the air-fuel mix. unfortunately though the computer would be getting signals from both the real sensor and his simulator. i think the SES light would come on if this set-up was installed on a high flow or straight through cat.

casper had a problem with there simms. They have since fixed the problem. Beware of very cheep simms. most are nothing but a resistor which will not work at all

sure

As a side note, casper electronics make good simms. If you do have an issue they will fix it or you. I can't really comment on other brands since I have not had any dealings with them.

But to answer your question, YES. Intense-Racing.com has a pulley you can put in its place.
