cat converter

Posted By: cubx On: 03-14-2010 @ 17:16:46         Reply | Edit
There is a rattle in my cat converter, and i think it's plugging my exhaust a litte bit, because I haven't got as much power as I should.

My question is, before I take the cat off. Can it be taken off, cleaned out (not gutted) and put back on?

I need to drive 2 hours on Sunday and I dont wanna kill this engine thats only been in for 2 weeks and wont be able to afford another CC until next week.

Ive never heard of a cat being cleaned, only replaced

Cost shouldnt be too bad. Hi-flo aftermarkets are usually <$100

Driving with a clogged cat will kill performance, efficiency and in extremely rare instances, carpet fires
