My 1998 camaro V/6 3.8 with auto trans, seems to be surging.when driving 70 at 2200 rpm's it raises
a few hundred rpms then back, it's like it's going into lockup and then back out.theres no slippage just the sound of the motor going back and fourth. drives me crazy. any help?
thanks...

It could be the TCC Solenoid. It is about a 40 dollar part, and can be replaced by dropping the transmission pan, and I am pretty sure it is right there in the valve body. I had to replace one on a 4T65E on a Pontiac Montana not to long ago. On a transverse mounted engine and transmission, that is not fun at all....
On the rear wheel drive it should be a much easier thing to replace. -- NIHILIST AND PROUD!

No, I mean TCC torque converter control solenoid. I have seen a few of these go bad.
