Buying a Firebird

Posted By: cubx On: 11-04-2009 @ 17:54:48         Reply | Edit
My 3.4 camaro is being sold tomorrow. I'm replacing the car with a Firebird. My options are..

3.4 with t-tops and fully loaded and in great shape for $1800

3.8 L hard top fully loaded but needs a head gasket for $1200.

I'm no mechanic and would have to pay someone to fix the 3.8.

So basically I guess what I want to know is, would it cost a lot to replace the gasket? Im torn between the bigger engine and t tops.

Also, what year of trans am honey comb tail lights will fit on 94/97 Firebirds. I like the looks of them better than what they come with.

only you can answer the question you pose. the other option is to wait and buy a 3.8 with t-tops and no head gasket problems for a little more dough

There are alot of cars out there honestly i agree with howi152 i would find a 3.8 with T-tops without the head gasket problem.

I'm just going for the 3.4 Liter. The guy has come down to $1600 and the car is in great shape. I'll get an 8 or a 3.8 someday, but for now the 3.4 will do.
