Plan on getting a nice Red Camaro within the next 12 months...Job willing...
Wanted a Z28, but I feel the more fuel efficient route tells me the 3.8 Liter V6 in the 98 (I think) through 2002s might be the better call. Not entirely sure yet what I want to do, and I am sure there have been a lot of posts about this, but was wondering how hard an engine swap from a 3.4 Liter to the 3.8s would be. The reason I ask is because I prefer the look of the 93-97s.
Any help would be great. Thanks -- 1987 Pontiac Bonneville V6, 3.8 Liter w/o the Supercharger

they put the 3.8 in what was it, 96-97 i believe, so you could still have the body style you like, with the better v6. you should be able to pick one up for next to nothing. --

3.8L started in '95.5. And yes, V6 Camaros can be found for CHEAP.

I have a 2000 5 speed V6 camaro. Gas mileage is pretty good. With mixed driving of highway and city, I get around 22 mpg which aint bad. Your not really going to be saving much on gas compared the V8. -- 2000 Camaro- 3.8, 5- Speed. Ram Air Hood (non functional at the moment)

Now I don't know what I want because 93-96 Z28s seem cheap as well...How much extra power do you think can be gained with headers intake and exhaust as opposed to a stock Z28? I know these seem like stupid questions I just am not as mechanically inclined as most at the moment. -- 1987 Pontiac Bonneville V6, 3.8 Liter w/o the Supercharger

My 97 Camaro V6 got 34.5mpg(yes ACCURATE) on a highway trip and averaged 29 mixed. Anyone who says a stock V6 Fbody gets any less than 25cty/30+hwy either A.)Has a lead foot B.)Needs a tune up or C.)Has mods like gears or something that is known to hurt mpg.
Jeremiah can confirm this with me as his V6 got great mileage too. I believe we both were able to pull 400 miles on a road trip and STILL have the marker just under 1/4 tank. (I had a 15.5gal tank)
Why did I sell that car???!?!
Oh yeah, to get the one in sig.

Yeah, I regularly got 30+ on the highway and upper 20's mixed. I was still getting 25-27mpg mixed even with my 3.73s. -- 2005 GMC 1500HD 6.0L, 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix ..only own GM and always will
