I am getting a procharger for my 3.8 v-6, and im having troubles finding out what kind of injector to use. Would a series 2 3.8 gtp(L67) injectores work or are they to short. I know they have enough pressure, but i just need to know if they would fit. I plan on running only five pounds of boost, dont want to blow the motor on stock internals. So if anyone knows, let me know. thanks

On 5lbs you should be fine with stock injectors, but if you want to go bigger, yes they will work as long as the injectors come out of a pre-2003 GP. After that you will need an adapter because the connectors are different. Remember that with bigger injectors you will still need to tune the car. -- 2005 GMC 1500HD 6.0L, 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix ..only own GM and always will

i know it will need a tune. but i thought for every pound of boost ran, a pound of pressure has to be added to the fuel?

You have a 97' 3.8 from 93-98 they used 19 lb stock injectors. 99-02 were 22#. 19#s suck bawls. get bigger ones. For 5 lbs GTP injectors should be fine. But get bigger ones if you boost it in any way especially if its pre-99. -- 1997 T-70 Turbo V6 Camaro

get the gtp injectors. or look on ls1tech or somewhere for some 42.5 lb injectors for cheap.
you can look online for the proper connectors. for example..
ls1 injectors use either ev1 or ev6 connectors, if you get those injectors, you will need to get those connectors and simply splice them suckas in.
you do need a new fuel pump.

Alright i think i'll go gtp. I'm going to buy them on ebay or get them from a junk yard probably. Seems cheaper to clean them by hand then just buy new ones. ObsidianSixer did you update your fuel pump with your turbo set up? i could probaly get away with the ls1 injectors like crunkmaro was saying, with 24 pounds, but I dontw ant to mess with cutting the wires and soldering. i want this job to make it look like it was stock.

Its 5lbs, you dont really need anything. I know plenty of people who run 6lbs on a completely stock setup. ...that said, it doesnt hurt to do the rest and you can run more boost down the road. Get some tuning software like HP Tuners that way you can monitor the injectors and everything else to make sure you are running safe. -- 2005 GMC 1500HD 6.0L, 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix ..only own GM and always will
