Brake Switch?

Posted By: 151Racing On: 03-16-2010 @ 15:37:18         Reply | Edit
Ok, so what all does the brake light switch control? I'm putting a relay in line with it so i can disconnect the rear brake lights at the switch of a button, but dont want to interfere with any other components.

I believe its tied into the cruise system, and brake booster control valve, but am not positive, and dont know if it controls any other systems. Any help would be great.

Atheism-The belief that there was nothing and nothing hapened to nothing and then nothing magically exploded for no reason, creating everything and then a bunch of everything magically rearranged itself for no reason what so ever into self-replication bits which then turned into dinosaurs...makes perfect sense.

if you are seriously thinking that putting a kill switch on your rear lights so you can run from cops is a good idea, then there is no help for you here.

if you are simply attempting to manage all lights with a switch then be warned...

the brake lights are in a circuit with your headlights, interior gauge lights, hvac lights, fogligts, DRLs, blinkers and your headlight switch,

and if you mess up, you will have a nasty current draw and you will be stranded somewhere with no interior gauge lights and the gauges will go as well as the power accy circuit (raido, power locks/windows) etc etc.

the brake lights are not to be tampered with...for your OWN safety.

I think someone used an e-brake to have a reason to have a grandpa cruzer.
