my car died... Posted By: firebirdswoape On: 03-11-2010 @ 02:24:59 Reply | Edit While on the way to Wolfies in Spring, TX. i punch the throttle, engine dies... cranks but will not run. going to check the basics in the morning... fuel, spark, air and compression. thinking possibly faulty cam or crank sensors, faulty wire in the ignition circuit. or just no fuel getting to the injectors. i filled up this afternoon so its got plenty, in the tank atleast. ill let you guys know what i find. -- 2000 Navy Blue Met. Posted By: firebirdswoape On: 09-07-2008 @ 20:51:07 Reply | Top | Edit according to the scan tool, i have no crank sensor... its showing no engine speed, the 3x ignition sensor says nada, and the 18x sensor reads zero as well while cranking. my moms car shows low rpm while cranking, i disabled the injectors for that test. i pulled out my ignition module, theres a yellow wire and a light blue wire that comes from the crank sensor, im going to measure the signal on that. according to my diagram its a 4 wire sensor so im guessing hall effect? 5v reference, ground, and two signals? i dont quite remember how that works but ill figure it out. also as far as the scantool was reading a 18x and 3x signal is that crank and cam? -- 2000 Navy Blue Met. Posted By: firebirdswoape On: 09-24-2008 @ 23:00:34 Reply | Top | Edit ok dealt with hurricane stuff, and now im back working on the car. tonight i put the crank sensor in... still no bueno. i checked for spark, nada. and i checked my injectors with a logic probe to see if they were firing off. i got a ground from the pcm with the key off, but with key on it would show power, then i never saw a ground as it cranked, so im not getting fuel flow either. i know its grounded through the pcm. i need to go over the diagram to see what would effect both spark and injectors... if anyone has a clue or an idea, please let me know. -- 2000 Navy Blue Met. Posted By: Green97TAMachine On: 10-20-2008 @ 01:36:01 Reply | Top | Edit I'm not 100% sure if fbody's have a collision switch (inertia switch), but if they do that could be your problem. If the switch is bad or has been tripped it will shut off your fuel flow and spark. Hope this helps. --
