seems you're really underpowering your subs... i have a POS "1500" watt amp, i think its more around 1200 myself, so i matched it up with 2 kicker comp vr's which are 300rms each 10's and it sounds great if you ask me. i listen to a lot of hard rock/metal so the 10's do a good job...loud and more importantly clear at any volume, i have each amp set at about half to three quarters power.
of course having an amp run aftermarket 6.5's makes a big difference also, i think i have a video on myspace but the audio pickup from pretty much any digital camera sucks so much its almost not worth recording a video of subs, which sucks. so, no links of my subs, unless you happens to find it... --

lol yeah, i keep getting the whole "underpowering " critics, but i am a bigginer, how much should i be giving them??? well what range of amps am i supposed to look for ? 1000watts ? 1200? 2400? well what i am trying to figure out is how much rms watts should i be giving them, sub directions specs say 400 rms, i got them at 400rms. i am looking forward to purchasing a bigger amp --

okay, so the guy who wired my subs, said that if i wired the 2 DUAL 4ohm speakers directly to a 2 channel amp , that it would produce an 8ohm load, is that true??
he wired my subs down to 2ohm and wired them in series, and said that the amp, would give me a 4ohm load. because 2ohm+2ohm= 4ohm LOAD is that true??
the subs specification are Dual 4ohm, and 400rms.
the amp is 2x200 rms at 4ohm , 2x400rms at 4ohm, 1x800rms at 4ohm bridged 2x300rms at 2ohm

ive got 2 JL w1 13.5 inch subs on a JL 500/1 mono amp that runs 500 max and 500 rms, ran in parallel so they each get 250 watts, the most ive hit is 131 DB which is pretty good for such low rms power, also i i have 8 memphis 6.5 inches with two of them in a custom fiberglass rear center consol and two memphis crossovers and tweeters in custom fiberglass door panels just inside of the door mirrors. its all run off an Alpine 9855 cda head unit. I like the whole system i just need to amp my 8 smaller speakers to get the entire system louder! --
Decko 94' Camaro 3.4l, mainly stock, 160 degree thermo, Magnaflow exhaust, Cutout, Cat Delete, Memphis 6.5's all the way around, 2 additional 6.5's fiberglassed between the rear seats and tweeters fiberglassed into the doors, with 2 13.5 inch JL w1's with a total mobil audio amp.
