Tire sizes

Posted By: cypher_2001 On: 09-04-2008 @ 12:55:46         Reply | Edit
I got my alignment done, because it seems about every 8-10 months it gets really out. The guy also put lock tight on all of the crossmember bolts, as they were coming loose causing the alignment to get all screwy. He also said I had a bubble on my front drivers side tire. I felt it and it sure enough did.

So ordering new tires, I got some Sumimoto 235/55r/16's. The guy said these are the largest tire that can fit on there. Was I right in ordering these? My current tire size is 215/60r/16.

+1 again for the 245/50/16's. On the stock rim these fit just fine and if you ask me they look perfect and perform just fine. I have however heard of guys running wider up to a 275 on a factory rim but its probably not recomended. The way i see it, its a V6 theres no need for anything that wide.

The 275 you speak of is. On the 17 in rim. On a factory 16 in rim 245 is the widest I've had. I'm not sure if a 255 would fit. Only one company make that size 16

255/50/16 BFG and MT DR's fit just fine on stock 16x8 wheels. You can probably fit a 275, but I'd go with a 245 or 255 series tire. I went with 225's on the front for an attempt at a sorta staggered look with stock wheels, i mean hell they were $30 a peice so I couldn't pass it up regardless.
