gearshift button! Posted By: raindog On: 08-30-2008 @ 23:31:18 Reply | Edit Anybody out there had a problem with the automatic gearshift button sticking? On my 98 F/B, the plastic button has gotten in the habit of jamming up, so I can't push it in to shift into park or reverse. Sometimes it jams, other times it's fine. There is a little pin on the back of the shifter. Pull that out and you can take it off. If that doesn't fix it, try to find one in a salvage yard if you don't wanna spend the money for a new one. I sprayed some WD-40 again, this time DOWN the shaft instead of just in the button hole, it seems to be OK for now. I think maybe the inside metal shaft was just getting sticky down at the bottom. Unless you just like pouring oodles of wd-40 in your console. --
