Whats your auto shift at

My car is the stock 01 3.8 with an auto and 3.42 no tune just an exhaust. My car only shifts at 4500 punched which is about 40mph. Is that normal shouldnt it go to the redline. The car used to have a turbo b4 i got it so I dont know if the turbo had any tune special for it but what is stock. The rev limiter in park is also set to 4500.

i agree with jeremiah, it must have a tune in it for some reason, idk maybe to keep it from spark knocking with the turbo, idk much about turbo cars, just a guess... --

If it ha d atune though wouldnt it get rid of the limiter in park at 4500. Also thy car shifts at the same speed at of any other 3.8 which is about 40mph? Do you think i'm losing performance because of it.

if the car doesnt go over 4500rpm you definitely arrent using all of the cars power or potential.
in some cases the tune would get rid of the limiter, but like i said, maybe they had some sort of issue with the turbo when the car got past 4500 and they just decided to limit it there instead of fixing what the real issue was. --

I took the car out again this morning. Came to a complete stop and punched it spun the tires for a bit them tookoff right to the 6000 redline and shifted. So I gues I just wasnt hittin it all the way!

Don't hate on this guy for not realizing he wasn't flooring it haha.
I had to fold my fuckin floor mat in my old Camaro cuz it always got in the way of the pedal.

I dont believe this guy... He says he floored it and it spun his wheels for a bit then took off. I dont think it spun wheels, V6's cant do that. HAHA

^I thought I was the only loser. It became automatic to get in the car and pull it back.
What SUCKED was when I did floor it, and the pedal got caught UNDER the mat.
