I could be wrong on the MPH but yeah the higher the number the shorter the gears. But faster acceleration. Posted By: Jeremiah On: 05-07-2008 @ 21:45:46 Reply | Top | Edit Yeah I know they are shorter gears but I was but I wasn't sure if the stock tune would cause your tranny to shift early or not shift at all. Now that I think of it, it will probably cause the tranny to hold on to the gear and maybe not shift. My example is somone who posted on another board. He used slicks that were 2" shorter than his regular tires which is the same effect of going to shorter gears. It made the 1-2 shift fine, but the car wouldnt shift out of second and the dumbass ran down the track bouncing off the rev limiter instead of letting off.So I was right the first time. BUT that is under WOT...chances are it will be fine in normal driving. The last tune I ordered was through Intense-Racing.com. I had HP Tuners software so for $99 they emailed me the tune and I loaded it. It gave me a good starting point to start fooling around with it.
