Ive begin coordinating with Tiago to see about him working on my Firebird while Im away in Basic Officer Leadership 2 and 3 which will end in December. The only talk right now is on getting the problems/bugs worked out of the engine and then maybe a little later on we might see about upgrading my turbo setup all over again for the 3rd time. (and Ive still got a Nitrous Kit sitting on my floor waiting to be installed) I havent had a whole lot of time to enjoy having 450 rwhp ponies since the problems developed so I want to get used to that feeling before I go chasing bigger goals. If I recall correctly I havent even got the maximum results in the 1/4 mile from 560 ponies at the engine. At last check, with serious engine problems and at only 10 lbs of boost, the Firebird knocked out a 13 flat in the 1/4 mile.
Jeremiah....you up to helping out with all of this all over again? -- If your whining isn't coming from underneath the hood I dont want to hear it.

Nolo, the main issue with the engine is that it wont hold oil pressure when the car is either idling or close to it. Infact the motor will usually stall out if I dont keep my foot on the gas. This has developed into another problem such as a faint "rattling" heard when my engine is cold. Those are the reasons why the boost was dropped back down to 10 lbs on the last run yet still got a 13 flat. The only reason why my engine has really survived thus far is thanks to fully synthetic oil. Its worth the price difference. 
Tiago is most likely going to overhaul all the bearings and seals etc to get it back up to where it needs to be to run at 20 lbs of boost....and hopefully get those RPMs way up beyond 6,000 so I can get a true reading of my horsepower and not the mere 450 at the wheels.

Ricky....your free to help all you like its just that your in Virginia and thats about 1000 miles away from here and certainly in the opposite direction in which I plan to move the Firebird.
Unless you had something else in mind.....

I will be in Virgina in late August BTW!! I have to spend about 5 months there learning everything about Logisitics at Fort Eustis, just outside of Newport News.....of course I will be driving the Volvo around and not the Firebird since it will be in Houston. I am GREATLY looking forward to returning to the Tidewater/Hampton Roads region for a while.

Kev, did you ever figure out what the metal shavings were in your oil down at the V6 clash? Or even if they were metal shavings and not grass since Jer let the plug drop on the ground? Glad to hear the project is back on track!!! --

They were indeed metal shavings....brass/copper etc. (not grass) will take on a gold/metallic color on your finger when oil "gook" is spread. Fortunately for me all the pieces were microscopic so the engine still runs. But as long as these problems persist then I cant run at 100% and running the engine with no oil pressure is just begging for big trouble. There really is no other option but to fix it.

Yeah they were definitly metal shavings from the bearings which does explain the no oil pressure thing. Tiago will get him all fixed up

Jeremiah, one thing to keep in mind is that the Firebird is going to have to be picked up here in Oxford MS and carried to Houston. I dont want to risk being broke down on the side of the road from 5 hrs of driving. Either Adriann or I would have to drive the Volvo behind you to B.R. to keep you from having to drive us all the way back up to Oxford....because you know....Baton Rouge to Oxford to Baton Rouge to Houston to Oxford to Baton Rouge would just really suck!
Do you think Brook would want to come? Theres really nothing exciting going on other than the 3+ of us getting together with our wives.

Depends. I know Brooke would absolutly LOVE to go see Tiago and Melissa again and hang out with you and Adriann. We've already passed on a couple of trips to Houston because of the pregnancy and I've been to Galveston 2x in the last 2 weeks and she has passed on both of those trips as well. So it really depends on how she is feeling...but I'd be willing to bet she will come
When do you want to do this? I know yall have the wedding coming up and we probably dont have a free weekend til the first weeknd of June. I can take a Friday off too if needed.

Jeremiah I still have to get some details worked out with Tiago but I imagine that this trip would have to be taken sometime in June.
Sorry Fury...I report to Fort Sill OK, on the Texas/Oklahoma stateline, on July 6th but we move out of my apartment before April 1st and most likely wont be in the state of Mississippi. -- Why in the world would I ever want to downgrade to a V8?
