Question about lifter noise

Posted By: smithdr On: 05-16-2008 @ 18:56:07         Reply | Edit
Just got my ride out about 2 weeks ago. Weather was finally decent enough! So Saturday night I get in the car, start it up, and now I got a lifter? Ticking. Started to go home and it quit after about 10 minutes.

I haven't changed the oil yet since putting it away, but oil has about 1100 miles on it.

Is seaofam a good idea? I am thinking maybe a small piece of sludge, or dirt stuck in the lifter. Anybody tried it, results?

Thanks in advance!

no seafoam

change the oil, but replace 1 qt of oil with 1qt of diesel fuel. start the car and run for ~5 mins.

change the oil again.

drive without lifter noise
