Removing 01 Firebird Emblems

I was stupid enough to put vinyl overlays on my door emblems, now less than a year and they are peeling off. I have decided to just replace the red factory emblems with black aftermarket emblems. Does anyone know if it is difficult to remove the old emblems? Are they glued or bloted on the back? Please let me know what process I need to remove them. Thanks! --

I took all my emblems off because I like the clean look. Go to Lowes or somewhere similiar and look for some stuff called "goof-off" or "goo-gone" to take the emblems off. the emblems themselves are easy, just take the back of a hammer and pull them off. But the hard part is getting that caulky gunky stuff off without hurting your paint. I found out that using your thumbnail to peel the stuff off works best, it doesnt scratch your paint and it comes off easily. But theres still a little bit on the car when your done with your thumbnail. So take the goo-gone and splash it on and rub it with a towel, it should leave no marks on there and take everything else off. --

use HEAT!
whether its a heat gun, or a hair dryer, heat them first. then use something like a plastic squeegee to pry with since it wont scratch anything.
then as ^ said, some goo gone will work, or stuff called Oops. --

^yes, heat! I used heat + dental floss to take them off and then used more heat plus my thumb (=blister) to take the residue off. -- Former ride: 531RWHP/477RWTQ Only bolt ons! ...technically everything used a bolt to install

i take tons of emblems off at work every day, and a heat gun ($10) is an awesome tool to have.
i took the side molding off the SS the other day. it was about an hour long pita project! --

DONT USE YOUR FINGER NAIL! ObsidianSixer must have soft finger nails because I used my thumb nail to try and remove something off my car car and it scratched the shit out of my paint. -- 1998 V6 Camaro A4, whisper lid, deleted air silencer, 160* thermo, plugs and wires, SLP Cold Air Intake, Magnaflow Cat-Back, deleted cat, MSD DIS-4, MSD Coils
