Computer Tuning

Hey Guys,
I'm new to the forum, but from what I've seen of it so far, it's full of well-knowledged carfolk. =P

Anyways, I was looking at possibly tuning my car after a few of my mods are done. The Following are the specs for my car after the mods are done, before the tuning.

- Low-Restriction Exhaust
- 160 deg thermometer
- Cold Air Induction (K&N)
- Throttle Body Spacer
- Pacesetter Shorty Headers

My Car: 1996 3800 Series II Camaro

What I'm looking for is, where I can buy a programmer for it. And possibly someone tell me how I should go about tuning it to get the most horsepower out of her =)

Any comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

you really shouldn't get a handhold programmer, it wont help you to the extent that you'd really want.

if you would like to tune yourself, invest in HP tuners and the associated hardware/software. It may be a bit more but it is re-usable. check out the information on that stuff...and theres an entire site based on tuning 3.8l fbodies.

if you would like someone else to tune it, check out pcm4less. they do mail order tuning which means that you tell them the mods and info about the car and they will send a pre-programmed PCM to you which you just replace the stock one with and your set.

Thunder Racing, Intense-Racing, ZZ Performance, all have custom tunes for our cars too. Intense and ZZP would probably be your best choices because they specialize in these motors.
