no...
just, no...figure you have a 16 gallon tank, then that is only like what 12mpg at best if you fill it up with 2 gallons hangin out in the tank still...simple math...
unless you are actually leaking gas somewhere, i find it hard for it to run that low a mpg...the computer must be dumping insane amounts of fuel into the engine for no reason, well there is a reason, but who knows...
maybe your intake is leaking and its causing the o2 sensors to read high which causes the pcm to increase pulse width to bring it back to normal voltage readings to run half assed normal...
does it idle high, does it ever die for no apparent reason...
we need more information if you want useful help... --

If it's a 3.4, it's only got a 14.5 gallon tank too if I remember right, they didn't change to the 16.9 until 99. --

i was wondering that, but it doesn't change that fact that he should be getting at least low 20's for gas mileage...
id try the fuel filter also, and then see what happens for milage a week or two later... --

i drive conservatively, and i get 20ish with city driving, but get 28 on the highway.
3.4's are also underpowered for the weight of the car. i dont know what theyre rated at, but i cant imagine that the gas mileage would be as good as the 3.8's. --

the egr valve was bad after getting it scanned and then yeah the fuel flter must /might need a replacemnet,
it must be true, poor 3.4 without mods or anything struggleing to pull its shell and not being gas efficient, like a turtle.
or like a fat guy trying to run but doesnt quiet get it done.
is there away to reduce the 3.4's weight without spending allot of cash on other lighter replacement body parts?

well i am still getting crappy milleage,
i put $30.00 in gas at $2.98 per gallon, but anyways it still continued wasting gas , i have about 120miles out of it , the meter is a lil over the quarter mark.
i had changed a few stuff,
motor oil, trans fluid, spark plugs, oil filter, transmission control solenoid for the tranny, egr.
do u still suggest i change to different spark plugs? do u recomend buying all of this:
new wire set,fuel filter,oil filter *i have a fram*,denso iridium spark plugs?

Might try changing the fuel filter and injectors. Check your catalytic converter, if its bad you could be running rich.
Also, might take it to a shop where they can do a complete fuel system clean. -- Trent
