Need to know about a manual to auto swap. Don't really want to, but the auto can hold more power, is cheaper and easier to build, and better for building boost off the line. And yes, I did search. --

Sure! But my T-5 right now has bent shift forks, 95,000 miles, and 5th gear synchros are going out. Otherwise fine, lol. Car isn't going to see the track again until the new tranny is put in.... --

Well there has yet to be anyone that build boost at the line in a turbo'd fbody...even with a stall. Usually the brakes dont hold at the line. Thats the problem weve had with Kevin's car. You will need a LARGE stall to be able to build boost and maybe a trans brake. -- **FOR SALE** 2005 GMC 1500HD 6.0L, dumped true duals - Flowmaster 50 series - 16.43@85.29

is there a TB for the 4L60E or would someone have to get a different trans all together, like a TH or Powerglide? --

I think some people have tried mating those transmissions to the 3.8, but have run into problems with bell housings. One article I read some guy hacked up 2 different bell housings, and had them welded back together. Still couldn't get them to line up correctly. Also, the input shaft diameter is something weird, but I think the TKO transmissions come with an optional input shaft that will fit, with the proper spline count, but they don't have a bell housing that will work... --

line lock is only as strong as your brakes...usually only used for burnouts -- **FOR SALE** 2005 GMC 1500HD 6.0L, dumped true duals - Flowmaster 50 series - 16.43@85.29

I just installed mine the other day...pretty easy, and is a great way to keep the car from rolling in the lights. --
