I'm sick of my 3.4, it's caused me endless stress and is utterly obsolete as of several years ago, so I wanna swap in a 3800. Just wonderin if you guys could help give me tips for what is all compatible, and what I need to get in order to complete the swap and have a well-runnin car as a result

Not this again
I'm not trying to be an ass, but use the search feature. You'll find endless results of the same question. Not just 3.4s to 3.8s, but 3.4s to LT1, and LS1s, etc. You'll need the same related items for any swap. Its not that we don't want to help you, it just gets VERY tiring explaining things over and over again. So, do the search, then, if you have any other questions you felt like weren't covered, or weren't very clear, then you can ask -- Trent '99 Z28 M6 - just another bolt-on/cammed LS1

For a second there I thought it said that 3.4 > 3800. I thought that was going to be very interesting.

I did too.
You will probably be better off selling your car and buying one with a 3.8 in it. If you are going to go through the expense of swapping motors you might as well swap in an LT1.

If your going to do an engine swap you might as well make the most of it and go with a V8. However alot of people come in here talking about how they are going to do an engine swap...very few actually pull it off. I think less than 5 people in the time that Ive been here on this message board. I thought about it for a while myself but then I just decided to build up my 3800. -- My other siggy!

This is how I look at it...
If you post about an engine swap ... you aren't going to do it. They should just ban you for engine swap threads unless its NEVER been posted before like maybe a 3.4 to 6.0 diesel swap.
j/k
I swapped a 3.8 in my 3.4 a week ago and the only 3.4 parts I left on the car are the gas tank, fuel lines, and the crossmember (the 3.8 crossmember didn't line up as well) So that should give you an idea of what to swap
Honestly if I didn't have all of the parts for free (courtesy of wrecking my other car) I would definately suggest selling your car and buying a new one.
But yes if anyone has SERIOUS and NARROW questions about engine swaps I will gladly help you if you email nick AT iatpm.com -- 2001 Turbo Camaro m5 - RIP 10/26/2006
