1998 Mystic Teal Chevrolet Camaro Z28

I picked up my car used back in April of 2001. I literally stole it off the original owner. I paid $20,000 Canadian for the car while others Camaro's like it were going for $25000 to $27,000 at the time. He need money ASAP to put down on a 2002 35th Anniversary SS. The dealer offered him $18,000 for it. The day I picked up the car was the day my dream came true. Considering that for $20,000 all I thought I could get would be a 96 SS or 97 Z28, this was more than I could have ever hoped for. A low milage, rare coloured LS1 that was babied and cared for beyond belief. The car has been extremely good to me thus far. Of course, working for GM as a Parts Consultant has allowed me to mechanically take good care of the car, and has allowed me to modify the car extremely inexpensively. In stock form, with 2.73 gears the car continually rattled off 13.7 quarter mile time slips. And all I can say is that the car has responded really well to the modifications I have done thus far. I've recorded a best of 12.41 - without the use of nitrous and without long-tube headers or a cam. Having a well-prepped track does help too. My times should improve next spring since I just added some long tube headers, electric cutouts and the LS1 Hotcam.
To anyone who hasn't realized what a great bang-for-the-buck an LS1 f-body is, get behind the wheel of one, hit the go-pedal and hang on. You're in for one hell of a ride!

Notes / Future Mods / Plans
I am getting closer to the desired goal of a 11.9 second 1/4 mile time slip. With the new additions (headers, cutouts, LS1 Hotcam) I should be pretty close. Can't wait until Spring 04.
Pretty soon a Moser or Strange 12 Bolt will be in order as will
some suspension and brake upgrades.
The only thing is..., do I sink more money into this car or upgrade to a C5 and spend money on it? Decisions - decisions!
