(andHook up your horn for nitrous still function normally)
Category:  Nitrous Install

Tools Needed:
Crimpers, strippers, electrical tape, meter.

Parts Needed:
2 relays and some wire

Purpose:
Use horn for nitrous and still work normally

How - To:
Step 1
Well, thought i would post up my nitrous activation setup. I have it hooked up with a button (no full throttle activation). I used my horn as the actual button to spray the nitrous...but I hooked it up so it would function as the horn as well. This way you have the best of both worlds. When the main nitrous activation switch is off, the horn will function like normal. When the switch is on, the horn buttons become the trigger for the solenoid(s). You could use a separate toggle switch to switch back and forth from horn to nitrous trigger if you wanted to, but i chose to hook up 2 relays, to eliminate the extra toggle switch.

Step 2
The first relay: used to interrupt the horn wire and the second relay is used to trigger the solenoid(s). I have a wiring diagram below how you can hook this up, but i'll explain it as well. the horn wire from your steering wheel button to the horn is a negative pulse (ground) when hit. You use a 12v wire coming from the main activation switch to power the first relay (i used #86 terminal for the switched 12v wire and used #85 for ground). When you activate the main switch, the connection from relay#30 terminal (steering wheel button) is interrupted from the #87 terminal (wire to horn) and #30 is then connected to #87 which is the negative (ground) trigger for the second relay. So when you hit the horn, now the negative pulse will go to the #87 terminal.

Step 3
The second relay: Terminals #86 and #30 are hooked up to 12v constant. I hooked the negative (ground) pulse wire coming from the first relay #87 terminal to the second relay terminal #85 (so this negative pulse wire will trigger the second relay only when the horn button is pressed.) Then i ran a wire from the #87 terminal to the nitrous solenoid. i used 12v + to trigger the solenoid and grounded the other side. you could do the opposite and hook up one side of the solenoid to 12v constant and then have the #30 terminal on the second relay hooked up to ground instead but this is how i hooked it up.

Step 4

Well hope someone could find this useful. I love showing people how it works in my car. A lot of people are surprised at how it works. Well anyway if you have any questions let me know.
