MAF Screen Removal

Tools Needed:
Flat head screwdriver
Knife(optional)

Parts Needed:
N/A

Purpose:
Flow more air into TB.

How - To:
Step 1
Remove the clamps holding the MAF between the bellows & airbox. Unplug MAF & remove from vehicle.


Step 2
Place MAF on workbench or other flat surface. Be VERY careful not to break the wires inside the MAF & gently pry screen out of MAF with screwdriver or knife.


Step 3
Reinstall it the same way it came out.

The MAF sensor IS directional. You should notice a sticker on the side of the MAF that indicates the direction air should flow. DO NOT put the MAF back on backwards.

If a mesh screen behind the seats on a car stops turbulence, surely removal of the honeycomb screen creates turbulence??

great mod, I gain 1 PSI at the intake at idle. yes, it stops turbulence and strightens air flow,but with everything stock for the intake, how stright is that air after taking that 90 degree bend after the MAF?

I looked at this screen and mine had what looked like a couple small rocks stuck in it! I checked for leaks and made sure the intake and airbox were good as well as the air filter. All seemed fine. I think I will leave mine in.
