Tools Needed:
As listed in directions that come w/TBS..plus clamps, putty knife, cleaning solvent, torque wrench, dab of silicone expoxy.
Parts Needed:
*Throttle Body Spacer
*2 High Quality Gaskets
*3 new bolts
Purpose:
To place in between the throttle body and intake manifold, causing a swirling and cooling effect on the air entering the engine. Thus giving your engine more horsepower and fuel efficiency.
How - To:
Step 1 1)Make sure have ALL REQUIREMENTS! Manily:Gaskets
Gaskets need to be high quality! Make sure they have small(usually red) rubber sealer around all openings in gasket.DON"T USE THE ONES THAT COME W/ HELIX KIT! If they even give 2, they gave me one and when i realized i needed 2 i had to put the assembly back together w/ the one they gave me. It soaked up coolant and put it in my intake when i went back into to do the job right. You can purchase these good gaskets at auto part online stores. Some dont carry them anymore but i know o found some great ones.
Step 2 Remove assembly as directions show. 1 bolt & 2 nuts on studs. And remove all sensors. Stick a sock or something in manifold to protect it from scrapings. Scrape everything good and clean tb and intake w/ a solvent(best carb/tb cleaner).
Step 3 The studs. This was a step that worried me. Just back them out w/ clamps or whatever u can. Don't be scared.
Step 4 Align gaskets and spacer. Dab silcone compund to help keep gasket in proper positions. And simlpy use new bolts to attach assembly back together. Tighten them down but not permanently.
Step 5 Use torque wrench to torque bolts in and follow directions. And finally attach all sensors back.
Step 6 Good Luck..it is slightly harder than directions say, but not bad if u follow these directions. This is on a Helix Power Tower Plus TBS, and there is a motorvator spacer out there, which is probably the same but not as efficient becasue of design.
