Comments:
I have this catback installed on my 1999 LS1 Trans Am. The sound suprised me after the installation. There was a nice loud rumble when you start the car, but at idle I didn't notice much of a difference in loudness or tone. It wasn't until I lightly revved and drove off that i could hear the awesome sound of this system. Made this choked off high pitched LS1 seem MUCH MUCH deeper. I love the rumble and NO RASP!!! The Perfect System for me and I'd highly reccomend it to anyone else. The tips looked good too!!!

Comments:
I purchased the Hooker Cat Back over the Flowmaster and it is exactly what I wanted. It installed very easy and fit perfectly in my 98 WS6. I also purchased Hooker 3 1/2" rolled tips without resonators to look like the original single end but the system does come with the Trans Am style chrome dual tips (I think many other WS6 owners would like the look of the 3 1/2" tips much more than the small factory ones from 99 up). The system does not sound too much louder at idle and has a nice sound at highway speeds without any resonance or annoying noise. It really shines when you put your foot down with both sound and performance. It is a GREAT system for a small cost.

Comments:
Installation was fairly easy. I had to cut the stock pipe in half to get it out, but the new pipe is two peices so it goes in easily. Sounds better every day. Nice low rumble at idle, not much louder than stock at cruising, really turns heads and makes the car fun to drive at WOT/5000 rpm! No noticable hp gain, but still have choking stock manifolds and cats.

Not a bad catback...I needed a quick fix for a "too loud" ticket I got so I purchased the cheapest "decent" catback I knew of. I like the sound but coming off the Loudmouth I was disappointed. HOWEVER...I have headers and no cats so the LM was WAY too much noise...now with the Hooker Catback on the noise is nicely muffeled with some rasp left over since I have no cats.

Comments:
Great exhaust system, noticeable at idle, ridiculously loud roar at wide open throttle. Friends say they can hear me from 4 or 5 blocks away. Also have help from Hooker long tude headers and hooker Y-pipe, No cats! Descent amount of horsepower gain was noticeable. Definetly recommended.

Was a piece of cake after I got the stock catback sawed in half. Sounds AWESOME, alot better than my old 2-chamber flowmaster.
When I got the tips, I noticed on the dual duals where the weld is in the middle that the chrome plating didn't completely cover the welds.
Tip: point all of the exhaust clamp threads skywards so that rocks dont bounce up and mess up the threads on the clamp.

Comments:
Very easy install-tips can be a little tricky to get centered but not difficult overall. On a stock car the system sounds pretty much like stock at idle and noticeable louder at WOT. The system seems to get louder with time and sounds better each day. Its a very tame and refined sound on a stock car with none of the snap, crackle, pop and rasp that some of the other catbacks have, yet still sounds meaner that the stock system and flows better as well. Add a y pipe and/or headers and it sounds pretty awesome. The pipes are aluminized (not stainless), but are very heavy-duty and should last a long time. Overall, probably the best cat-back for the money.
