Comments:
Not a lot of information about putting this shifter in a 4th gen. I had to do a lot of work just to get the computer to think the electronics from the old shifter were still working. Reverse light wiring was easy as was park safety switch and power hatch. BUT that is "easy" after a lot of trial and error and reading the service manuals. The ratchet action is great and it seems to shift pretty easy.

too much $ but great perfromance

if you buy the parts seprate from the fit it will cost you a lot more (2 times) and the kit comes with hard ware and plastic pieces that you might not need which = OVER PRICED (but a must have)

I bought the B&M megashifer, basically the same deal. A little pricey but I love it.

The hardest part is the wiring and relays. We did all our wiring ahead of time and cut the console ahead of time to save time when we finally did it. Its pretty idot proof with all the directions they give you. We read over them several times so we didnt screw it up. READ DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY. A least a two person project but worth the time and money.

Comments:
I too installed the Hammer shifter in a 4th. gen. Fbody, reuseing the factory console. Looks great!
A little cutting/fabing & moding was all it took.
Since a 4L60e is not to be shifted (held in gear &
shifted at selected R.P.M.), It only takes part in
basic operations, but damn it looks good!!!
