I don't recommend dealing with member lump

I put up a ad requesting to purchase a 58MM Throttle body from someone http://www.fbody.com/cgi-bin/partswd/read.cgi?msgid=12243 . He stated he had one, I requested a picture of it, he said "once you've seen one 58MM throttle body you've seen them all". I stated it all being the same I would still like a picture, he then said he was not at home and would have to get one to me tommorow. So tommorow comes and he sends me this pic
(At this point I assume he just copied this off google or something)

So I figure 150 + shipping and its the newer style power-plus with gasket and bolts. Thats a sweet deal and jumped on it.

Well this is what showed up at my home on Monday

This pic is hard to make out but if you look inside the blade area you can see the light making its way clearly threw which obviously means the blades are not sealing properly

Also this TB is a BBK edelbrock model with the different plate then the one he sent me stating he had to wait to get home to take it.

Also the Gasket he sent with it was a 52MM gasket not a 58MM.

When I contacted him looking to complete the sale he always got back to me within a few hours. I contacted him 2 days ago about this when I recieved it stating if I knew this was the condition I would never had purchased it and have yet to hear from him.

I would have gladly paid more for a fully functioning TB I could just swap on and let him know this was going on a boosted LT1, the neck of TB having two large holes drilled in it should have been a red flag that he should have come clean.

I am not making this thread with the purpose of bad mouthing a member just letting anyone else know before they deal with this member that I very much feel ripped off.

John

^Why would you feel bad about it man???

If someone clearly ripped me off and then refused to even reply/respond to my emails to set things right, Id sure as hell badmouth them!!!

Not that I have a history of causing trouble for bad-sellers of course....

Well, I did a search on the guy and he is on alot of boards. I am surprised someone would lie and send this junk without a second thought like this. Not to mention that I also noticed after making this thread that the vacuum ports were cut off and filled in. So basically every possible part of this thing is crap.

The blades don't close meaning it won't provide a tight seal, since it doesn't close the TPS would always register throttle, no vacuum ports so I can't hook up my evap and the neck would never hold pressure. Its dishonest people like this that make it harder from buying from the good guys.

Still no word from him either.

FORWARD540(Mike Robaey)DO NOT buy anything from this guy! He ripped me off for $220.00 for parts never sent and said he was going to return my money over 3 weeks ago. He was selling on thirdgen.org and was run off due to stealing money and over rating his parts. Go to thirdgen.org and checkout the feedback board. Buyer Beware!!!
