Finally in the 10s! Wahoo!!!

Posted By: RamAir95TA On: 11-06-2009 @ 22:34:42         Reply | Edit
Well, technically. I was limited to 1/8 mile passes because tech tonight was really anal, and I still don't have a cage. Managed to get in 3 runs, the best being:

60' 1.52
330 4.447
1/8 6.98 @ 96.70.

Doing the math, it would have come out to a 10.86ish. Air quality was super good (-1200 DA) at Atco. Next project, roll cage.

For those of you that don't know, car is a mostly full weight 95 T/A, 383 stroker, AI 200cc heads, 9" with 3.90s, Performabuilt 4L60E, and all of the bolt-ons.

Congrats...it's been a long time coming with that car! Glad you stuck it out and eclipsed that point.
What type of 9" are you running and what did it set you back if you don't mind me asking?

Great times. Those AI combo's are really doing well. It's still hard to believe they are getting that on 200cc intake runners......wow is all I have to say.

Congrats!

The 9" I'm running is a Moser housing narrowed 3", iron nodular center section, 3.89 gears, full spool, 31 spline axles capped with Wilwood rear brakes. I pieced it together over a few months from a bare housing, so it cost me over $2000 most likely.

I might eventually bite the bullet and just order a complete 9" from Strange or Moser.

The spool honestly isn't that bad as long as you're smart about it - in other words, you need to drive the car like it has one. And don't ever think about driving in the rain with one. Bad idea.

It helps to have a rear end that can handle the abuse though too. That will be my next investment. Either a S60 or Strange 12 bolt.
