lt-1 ignition trouble

Posted By: 96transam9879 On: 08-12-2009 @ 19:31:02         Reply | Edit
heres the deal..i had an engine code for a misfire in cyl. 3 change my plugs and wires. seemed to work.. soon after i got a misfire in cyl. 4, then random misfire..the car idles pretty rough and some backfiring when cold but when it heats up it sounds perfect. i had the heads redone so i had to obviously redo all the wiring..is it possible i missed a ground somewhere, and if so where are they..any other ideas what the problem might be would be welcomed..except the opti, ive never had a problem with it and the car has 100,000 on it, but if thats definately the problem i would invest..please let me know!!

I responded sarcastically in the AG forum, but it's probably best to keep it in here.

Basically it's difficult, at minimum, to tell you much of anything from what you've posted. Start by giving us specific info on the car (more than an incorrect engine code). My assumption from what you posted is that you have no idea what or how to test, so you're looking for a step by step guideline. Have you done anything besides remove/reinstall the heads and change plugs/wires?
