Air Con Compressor

Posted By: terminal_crazy On: 05-11-2009 @ 11:37:30         Reply | Edit
Hi guys,

fired my '95 Z28 up the other day and it made a hideous noise. I thought it
was the alternator bearing but if i turn the air con off it goes off as the
clutch disconnects. Comes back if i turn it on again.

Any pointers etc.
Is it easy to fix or is it a new air con compressor.

Do I have to do anything special with replacement. Just remove & Replace it then get system pumped up at an air con garage?

Thanks
Mitch

ac compresser is easy to get to from the bottom , but it is the freon and the mechanic ability you have as how easy it would be . try spraying a little wd 40 in the clutch not much let it run a bit and see if it clears up .
