Hello, I purchased a '93 z28 that I am removing the drivetrain for a streetrod swap ('48 Ford F-1 pickup). The body is banged up pretty good so I plan to scrap the body after I finished removing all the parts I need. I worry that I will forget to remove something that I may need later. I carefully removed the engine wire harness along with the underhood computer, There are two more computer boxes under the interior dash, on each end of the dashboard. Do I need them??? I plan on using an aftermarket standalone engine wire harness.
Things I have already removed:
Engine and auto trans
underhood wiring and computer
radiator and fan shroud
gas and brake pedal assby.
Fuel tank and lines
rear axle
parking brake and cables
shifter and cable
Master cyl. & booster
I will be removing all smog equip. and using block off plates. I am adding a mild Compcam #07-306-8, Valve spring kit(beehive). and reflashing the computer(I realize this motor is speed density). Do I need the under dash silver computer boxes??
Do I need the electric fans wiring harness?? or can I wire them with a relay and thermostat? Will the brake master cyl. and brake booster work okay without the ABS??(I will use a proportioning valve). I have an '81 Z28 front subframe grafted to the '48 boxed frame. Please help! Thanks, Pete

The box at the driver end of the dash is probably the electronic brake control module. There is also a module called the (Diagnostic Energy Reserve Module) behind the golve box.
I looked in my TA's service manual, the other modules that could be up under there are: Daytime running lights module (it has 2 plugs with more the 10 wires going to it) , the module that makes the auto down work on the drivers window (looks like it has about 5 wires in 1 plug on it, Retained accessory power module, keeps the accessories on for a certain time after you turn the key off or til you open the door (it looks to have 7 wires in 1 plug going to it, the keyless entry module is behind the righthand kick panel (it has 2 plug into the top of it.
I hope some part of this helps you figure out what is what, I'm not sure what you will need, besides the ECM and maybe the diagnostic energy reserve module thats behind the glove box.
The master cylinder and boster should work fine without the ABS, I know that some guys remove the ABS stuff to get rid of that weight and the brakes still work fine.
The transmission on a 93 is not electronically controlled, so that will make your swap easier.
BTW if you don't have any use for the keyless entry module, I could use one. -- 1993 Trans Am Completely Stock -- 1993 Trans Am Completely Stock [ Edited on 12/07/2008 @ 08:44:37 ] -- 1993 Trans Am Completely Stock [ Edited on 12/07/2008 @ 08:46:14 ]

I put the '93 LT1 my Jaguar 8 years ago. The only harness I used was the fuel injection harness.I had my factory harness reworked by Speartech which did a great job eliminating what I didn't need. It had an easy 4 or 5 wire hook up to make it run. I suppose you can use the fans and radiator if you like, I run a Griffin with a single fan myself. -- 1989 jaguar xjs,'93z/28 eng.& trans. asp pullies,csr,26918's,1.7 scorpion's,yank ss3600,3:54 gear, shorties,dr. gas x,alvin's tune 12.86 @ 104 1.77 60' 3900#
