You're in the right place. Is it an auto or a manual?

I went to the track Saturday and ran my stock 97 A-4 3.23's and with .280 reaction time did a 14.39 @96 mph. Sounds right on par to me.

i ran in earlville Iowa on sunday and its a manual... i figure a could get 13.9 if i had a better reaction time

14.2 is fine for stock. Lots of people never do that well, especially manual. My fastest time in a bone stock 94 auto was 14.007, but this was at one of the best tracks in the nation. I've seen below -2000 DA on one night.

Reaction time has nothing to do with your actual ET.

My best run in my Z28 was:

Reaction: .157
I1: 2.506
I2: 6.494
I3: 9.722
MPH: 76.418

ET: 14.835
MPH: 96.396

M.O.V 1.525 (whatever that is.)

That's with a CAI and Flowmaster.

Calaban, you could drop your times in the 1/4 dramatically with a better 60 ft time. I ran a 2.0 60' in my best time listed in my sig. IMO, one of the best ways to run a good quarter is to start with a good, kinda long, smoky burnout. It gets the tires hot n sticky, and gets your adrenaline pumpin. In my A4, i staged it hard, and hit the light perfect. As soon as i had traction, the pedal went to the floor, and i shifted it manually. I recently installed Magnaflow catback and a cutout, pics coming soon, and im hopin to drop another 1 or 2 tenths next trip to the track. good luck and keep us posted with your times

There's no point in trying to manually shift a non-manual valve body transmission. The setpoints aren't that much lower than the rev limiter and being as you're mostly stock there would be no advantage to shifting higher if you moved the stock rev limiter.

There is definitely an easy half to almost full second to be gained in the 1/4 from improving that 60'. I was snapping off high 1.9XX 60' with 245 wide street tires in the old car when it was auto and no cam.

My tires were/are hard as a brick and I tried it two ways. Once, I did a burnout and then I took off like I was at a stop sign. The stop sign technique gave me the best numbers. But, I know there's more there. Installing the the SFC's I have, getting LCA's and Brackets, and some decent tires would help out a bunch. Then taking out my 100 lbs of stereo equipment.

I maybe could have gotten it lower that night but I only ran about 5 times.

I need a new clutch before I can go back. Hopefully I can get back out next year, depending on when they close the local track.

Calaban, M.O.V. stands for margin of victory. It's an important number for bracket racers.

I used Photobucket to host my pics then used this guide http://www.fbody.com/forumfaq.htm but it doesn't seem to be working right now.

U probably would get better explanations if you asked this question on Anything Goes.

I don't have the Z06s anymore. I wanted to keep them but had to sell them to get the Welds.
