Motor Starts Runs for 20 Then Dies

Posted By: SleepingZ28 On: 08-06-2008 @ 08:58:32         Reply | Edit
My friend has a 94 Chevy caprice with a lt1 it starts fine runs and drives fine for about 15 to 20 minutes and then dies and wont start for a hour or two till it cools down. It is not overheating according to the temp guage. Any Ideas?

Having same problem with mine except it runs for even less. I think mine could possibly be my opti but you'll still wanna get a fuel pressure gauge on it.

Check/change the ICM (ignition control module). When they go bad they will act just like you described. What happens is it gets heat soaked and doesn't function properly.

It's located on the front of the drivers side head.

i agree! its most likely the ICM. I work at a napa and we test them cold and then heat them up and retest. 90% of the time the test good cold but fail after we heat them
