car stalling

Recently got the car back up and running with the new msd opti, trickflow guideplates, ls7 lifters, and the 6 speed that's been in there for a while. Anyways, I went to take the car out for a spin and before I made it out of the driveway it died. Started back up for a split second and died. Pushed it back in the garage, let it sit for a couple hours come back out and it fires right up. However, after several minutes of idling it died and would not start back up. Let it sit for a couple hours and it fired right back up again. I'm pondering whether my msd is bunk and on the way out like so many others. Seems as though it dies after the motor has warmed up. I've taken a log if anyone would be so kind as to look at it. -- 94z28 13.0@109 (still tweaking) best 60ft:2.22

Similar problems in this post. Ltgun_94 had exact problem with his msd opti. Not sure what would be heat sensitive in it but I recall people having problems with the cap walking off of the screws and the rotor digging into the cap, or something along those lines. Sad part is I probably have 5-10 miles on this product.

That sucks, I'd check your coil just to make sure it's firing when the car is warm.

I have the blaster coil and had some similar issues with it as well, I used 2 nuts to space it from the block and it fixed my problem. I dont have the MSD box tho.. --

Check/change the ICM (ignition control module). It's mounted on the front of the drivers side head. --

I spaced the coil out with spacers a while ago. Also had the icm tested at autozone last year and have only put about 30 minutes on it so I dont think thats it but I'll have it tested again anyways. Just sounds like the msd paper weight to me. -- 94z28 13.0@109 (still tweaking) best 60ft:2.22

One other thing, in the datamaster log it lost voltage and died after it went into closed loop. The voltage dropped to around 8.5-9V as soon as closed loop hit. -- 94z28 13.0@109 (still tweaking) best 60ft:2.22
