Percy's dead soft. The one header that has all the bolts in it seals up great. haha -- Steven, 96 Z28, member since 2001.

not sure what all the rage is about those percy's gaskets... i got them and there was about 20 layers... you can't tell where an actual entire gasket starts and where it ends... so I just returned them. -- 93 z28, stalled and bolted, 1 of 17,850, super rare

Anythings gotta be better than a blown gasket every couple thousand miles. I ordered a set of the percy's, new bolts and another set of the fel-pro's. hopefully something works this time. --

There's 3 layers on each gasket. What's so complicated about that? --

Sorry for the long post...
Just thought I'd add this about headers and gaskets. I have JetHot LTs (same as Hooker LTs), and about 2 years after they had been on there I noticed exahaust residue on the heads below some of the ports. So I decided to replace the gaskets. Well, after taking the old gaskets out, I noticed that there is basically no flange to head contact on the bottom of each port. I know this because the black soot on the header side of the gasket went to the edge of the gasket. I searched the intenet for info and called JetHot to no avail. So I removed the headers, slotted the bolt holes about 3/16 inch down, and added material to the top of each bolt hole. I then smoothed the welds round and re-installed the headers. I notice a lot less weird noise and the engine runs smoother. Plus, I planned the slotting out so that the collectors tuck in much better than before. About 1/2" closer to the car.
The problem is that 1.75" tubes on LT1 heads are fine if the manufacturers took the time to make the bolt holes in the right location. The looseness of the holes is enough so that you could hold the headers up and then tighten the bolts and be leak free, but not in every case.
I use the fel-pro header gaskets and some ARP bolts with 5/16 six-point heads and re-installing the headers was easier than the supplied bolts.
Just some info I thought I'd pass along. --

it's complicated because it doesn't say on the packaging how many layers go with each gasket... they can't just make them stick together?
and no i'm not a dumbass just because i didn't know... i wasn't going to blow the money i spent on them if they weren't gonna fit right.. so i just returned them and got some mr. gasket ones and they work just fine. -- 93 z28, stalled and bolted, 1 of 17,850, super rare
