So my car develped a misfire out of nowhere about a month ago. I figured plugs again, changed them and no difference. So i replaced the O2 sensors and fuel filter and fuel pump. Nothing helped so i took it to a dealership. They work on alot of C4 vettes so i figured they would know. They told me optispark was bad so they replaced it. That didn't help so they replaced the ignition control modual. Same deal, they replace pretty much every part of the ignition and nothing helped. They discovered that it only did it under 2400 RPM. So they replaced the computer thinking that was the problem. So after 2 weeks of waiting for the computer it still does it. They deleted my tune and have had my car for three weeks and still have no idea what is causing this. So if anybody has any ideas it would be greatly apprieciated.

First, if you haven't changed the wires do that. I recommend Jegs branded wires. They are 41 bucks a set shipped. I've been running them on my IROC and Z28 for a while. Very good wires, I say that because you've spent so much cash already what's 50 more bucks.
Check your fuel pressure.
Make sure all your injectors are working properly.
Wait until dark and park in a very dark spot. With the car idling open the hood and look for arcs from the wires to the engine or anywhere else for that matter.
Good Luck.

Gotta leave the dealership, just start replacing shit with out diagnopsing anything. Don't worry the customer will pay for all of it.
I would pay for a single fucking part they put on the car, none of it was bad or the problem.
Take it to a real shop and have it looked at. --

Put new plugs and wires on it. I had the exact same thing happen about a year ago and I changed the plugs/wires and I haven't had any problems since. Turns out that even though the wires ohm'd out ok, two of them were still bad and I'd get a miss from idle to 2500rpm's.
I just went with the NGK V-Power (TR5's I believe) plugs and the cheapo advance auto brand wires. Problem was solved. --

Well i called my mechanic and he doesn't think that its the wires. But i suggested that he just switch two of the wires around and see if the misfire switches cylinders accordingly. So he said he'd do it tomorrow morning and see what happens. Thanks guys ill let you know if it fixes it.

i agree with 95..don't pay for a thing the dealership did..they are responsible for throwing parts at it..not you -- Any chevy can be an SS.
Only a Camaro can be a Z28

Well the mechanic looked at the plug wire on the cylinder that was misfiring and it was all cracked to shit. Seems to me that should have been one of the first things to check. But i ordered some new wires and we'll see how much they try and charge me when the service manager gets back.

Does your car miss at an idle or under load? I'm having a similar problem on my 95. If I try to accelerate with a load under 2500rpms it misses real bad and even back-fires. I have a new opti, coil, ICM, PCM, My wires are newer however questionalbe. -- 95 Z28, A-4, K&N intake, TF elbow, polished 52mm Edelbrock, free mods, gutted cat, Magnaflow catback, LT4 roller timing set, A/C AIR & EGR del. My car misses really bad until about 2400 Rpm then just stops until about redline. Never at idle and if i didn't bog the motor is would be fine thats why the dealership couldnt figure it out. Spark plug wires are cheap so i would try that.
