4L60 won't go into park

A couple weeks back my stock 1997 Formula felt different when moving shifter from park and when I parked it later it would not shift into park (park pawl did not engage). I can drive it but if I have to shift into neutral I have to go up near reverse then pull the shifter back towards drive. Is this just a simple "put the tranny in park with the shifter cable unattached and shifter in park then reattach it" per the how to on sshbox's site or a more in depth problem? Thank you for any help.

I think that will fix your problem. I had the same issue on my '82 Camaro and that was all it needed.
