Anyone tried installing ls7 lifters into their car yet? From what i've read it's a direct replacement. I might be ordering a pair cause I think mine are on their way out. -- 94z28 13.0@109 (still tweaking) best 60ft:2.22

Ok cool. Please be sure to put an update of them on this post and let me know how they work. One or two people seemed to have oiling issues with them not sending oil up to the rocker arms but for the most part they seem to work fine with everyone else. I'll probably be ordering a set of them next week. Almost twice as cheap as a set of replacement stock ones. -- 94z28 13.0@109 (still tweaking) best 60ft:2.22

They are good lifters. The people having oiling issues may have faced the oiling holes in the lifter body the wrong way. If you go to a GM dealer they are the standard replacement lifter now for all LS1 and LT1 motors. I am going to be running them on a .605 lift cam. Search on LS1Tech, lots of people running them. --

I was about to ask the same question. I heard they are supposed to face towards the back of the intake, possibly due to the oil drive being located at the rear of the intake. Is this correct? I'm going to order my set tomorrow off of gmpartsdirect.com Is this the correct part number? # 12499225

The oil flow comes from the rear of the block so it would be best to face them that direction. I don't have the lifters here and I don't remember the part number, otherwise I would tell you. --

Well, got my lifters in, oiling holes faced towards the rear of the intake, intake is back on, just have to readjust the rockers, and then tie up the loose ends. -- 94z28 13.0@109 (still tweaking) best 60ft:2.22

I called two local machine shops. Both engine builders I talked to say that the direction of the oil holes do not matter.
Can anyone back that up? --

It SHOULDNT matter due to pressure, but if anything oil holes facing the rear would be better being that is where the oil flow is coming from. --

Just something of similar subject on another site.
I just pulled my factory lifters a few weeks ago. Those suckers where so tight I couldnt pull them out with my bare hands. why is that? --

I use one of those extension magnets to pull them out. They are sort of tough to get with your bare hands. There isn't a lot lifter to grab onto and the valley that they slide into barely holds the lifter which could make it tough to pull them out. Additionally, the lifters do weigh a decent amount to lift up with two fingers out of a tight lifter vally. -- 94z28 13.0@109 (still tweaking) best 60ft:2.22
