Hey guys I need some advice. My idiot neighbors have filed a noise complaint with the local twp. about my car. I start my car in the morning move like 20 feet and then put it in neutral and coast out of the development someone is very disturbed. I have the SLP loudmouth exhaust and it looks like I need something quiter but I hate to lose any hp with a restrictive exhaust. Any ideas that will make it a little quieter but not
rob my precious power?

if you live in pa..and the car car passes emmissions if you need it..not much they can do unless its at crazy hours of the night or morning or revving the shit outta it. i would fight if anything...i had slp loudmouth on my 93z28. i heard the loudmouth2 is quiter..i dunno though. could go with flowmaster....but they suck.

Call the local P.D. or stop by a police officer that is parked and ask if they have a local noise ordinance for loud mufflers. If not your good.

Most police officers like myself don't realy care about loud mufflers because lots of us have cars or have friends who have vehicles with loud mufflers. As long as it has a catalytic converter and a muffler also in some states passes emissions then your golden.

Just don't go revin the crap out of it and playing loud music, etc. etc. because then your neighbors can file a noise complaint. Still not a whole lot they can do about it though if it's in your own yard on private property and your not intentionaly disturbing the peace. If you do notice that they are calling the police a good thing to do would be to talk to the police and let them know what's going on. Be professional about it though. That goes a long way in determining if your neighbor is just being a nuisance.

I don't rev the car at all. Like I said when I leave in the morning I put the car in neutral and coast out of the development with it idling around 1200 rpm. I guess their biggest complaint is that I start work at 6 so I leave about 5:30. What ticks me off is that no one said anything to me, they put a cvopy of the noise ordinance in my mailbox and then filed a complaint. The ordinance says that the noise cannot be above 60 decibels across any property line.
