double check your wires and plugs make sure no loose ends or wires rubbing the headers/ manifolds
what plugs are you running and what are they gapped to?

the plugs I had were Autolites and their gap was .30, I have Bosch I am about to install and those are suppose to gap at .50. As for the firing order, it should be fine, car was running great until this problem popped up

Have you checked the coil wire? I also thought it sounded like your cats, until you said you didn't run cats. I had a coil wire that basically disintegrated in the boot. I also hate to state the obvious that it could be your opti.

I will check coil wire 2morrow morning, tho my opti is also a brand new delco unit. but it hesitates more day by day.

Coil wire from coil to distributor is good, I changed it wit another wire and same results. I changed All sprk plugs and same results. I checked ALL spark plug wires for any burned wires there were none and I replaced the TPS she is still hesitant and now she is stumbling/hesitant on idle as well

this time when I checked the fp it read 39-40 psi idle and when I get on the gas it goes up to 44-45 then drops steady at 40psi, and still is hesitant

UPDATE-
when ignition is on(prime), fuel pressure goes to 44psi then drops to 39-40psi in 2 seconds. and drops to zero in 2 minutes. this is when the key is in the on position (car not running.) [ Edited on 07/05/2008 @ 19:40:47 ]

You may have a leaking injector, or possibly a bad fuel pressure regulator. Either way your fuel pressure sould not be dropping that fast. There is definatly a leak down somewhere. --

I was thinking the same, and when I accelerate fuel pressure goes down instead of up

pulled the fuel rail off. there was some gas by injectors 2,4. all other injectors were dry around manifold. I am replacing my fpr, should I take this time to replace injectors also? what is the stock size and who makes good injectors [ Edited on 07/06/2008 @ 21:51:58 ]

the stock sizes are #24 lbs
if you have more than just basic mods
svo 30s are good but you have to have the pcm tuned for them
or you can have the bad ones refurbished

I changed the fuel press. reg., installed new FMS SVO 24# injectors and same problem. On acceleration she stumbles/hesistate .but my fuel pressure is @ 45 and stays in that range so my f pressure is better .what else could this be. FYI: opti is new AC Delco, Walbro fuel pump, the fuel tank was cleaned before I installed the fuel pump, fuel filter, new coil,Icm,Wp,plugs, plug wires(I checked for burned wires),TPS sensor , Bosch O2 sensors 2 weeks ago The problem really started after the O2's.

Have the ignition control module checked. Any of common auto parts stores should be able to do it just make sure they hook the ground wire to the module since thier directions dont show that. Oriely's and Advanced anyway

You probably have an air leak somewhere after the maf. If you have the stock rubber elbow, make sure it isn't pinched where it attatches to the throttle body. It's not uncommon for the stock ones to tear. Also, if you have a vented opti, make sure the vent line is still attatched and not broken. -- Steven, 96 Z28, member since 2001.

sometimes I hear a ticking noise after I turn the engine off in the intake mani. I did not encounter any air leaks upon inspecting

Use carb cleaner to spray anywhere there may be a leak. If the carb cleaner gets in you will know that is where the leak is. -- '93 Formula LT-4 Hotcam-headers-flowmaster-nocat-58mmTB-

I am having the same problem, i have a 94 firebird formula that has what i've been able to tell a 95 vette lt1. I was reading that the vss sensor must match the computor. The tranny is factory 94 4l60-e. I don't have lots of money to spend buying new parts. Does this sounds like it would make sense and possibly could be the problem?

I had the same problem put ton money in and all it was is a simple fuel pump failing but not completely. Test fuel pressure bet thats your problem.

well i had that problem before and i was using bosch also, and i switched to AC delco and it fixed the problem. i never use anything but ac delco in chevy's. but try changing that and i know your opti is good but if you have a warranty i would change that. it only takes an hour its not that bad. atleast if you did that you could rule one more thing out. and also what ive noticed on bosch plugs is the little metal piece on the end of the plug where the plug wire plugs into. they come loose. they just unscrew sometimes cuz they dont get put on tight enough check and see if there loose. cuz that was a part of my problem when i had it.
