Anyone cut 1/4 to 1/2 a coil off of the stockers to lower the vehicle to the desired height? Pro's/Cons?

It wont come out right. Expecially if you use a tortch. It will kill the spring rate and kill the ride and it wont sit even.

Have you tried removing the rear rubber bushing? I hear this will lower the rear some.

Why are you wanting lower springs if your dragracing?

To achieve a desired ride height. A torch would definitly not be used, most likely a die grinder. I was only looking to take off a 1/4-1/2 a coil, not much at all. Someone recommended this: "I took the rubbr isolaters out of the back on top of the spring and replaced it with some heater hose around the top coil of the spring, dont remember exactly what size but it fit tight and i used cyclo foaming glass cleaner to help aide sliding it on...it dropped the back nicely and still retained the same springs". I could spend big cash switching over to an adjustable coil over up front but I figured taking a 1/4-1/2 coil off could be a temporary solution to getting the ride height even. idk I'm waiting for Injuneer to come in here and rip me a new hole for even considering it

How do you like those autolites? Do you daily drive with skinnies?

Have you ever tried to cut spring metal with a grinder? I dont know how hard it would be but also concider that the tops and bottoms of the springs are flat, and if you take out some material the ends might not fit so well in the cups.

The autolites have worked good for me for the last 3,000 miles or so with them. I'll probably replace them this summer with some 104's. I will be using the skinnies on the street. Apparently it takes about 10 seconds to cut through the metal with a die grinder.
