Using fuel pump with LT1 PCM??? FP RELAY CONTROL...

Posted By: mrquazy On: 05-23-2008 @ 22:56:21         Reply | Edit
I have a 94' LT1 with its original wiring harness and computer/PCM in my 69' firebird. The VATS on my PCM has been disabled and everything is wired up. My fuel pump works when I touch the power wire on a 12V source. I have my fuel pump power wire connected to the dark green/white wire(fuel pump relay control) off of the C220 wiring harness pigtail. Is this all that I need to do in order for the fuel pump to come on and prime? I am getting nothing when I turn the ignition on.

I checked the PCM plugs(blue, red, black, gray) with a light tester on the necessary power wires. My PCM is getting constant power(orange wire) and all of the 12V ignition switched pink wires from the harness are also getting power(when ign is in "on" position). What am I doing wrong? Why is the fuel pump relay control green/white wire not putting power out of it & allowing my fuel pump to come on and prime etc..??

Someone please help!! Ive racked my brain for hours today trying to figure it out. Im about ready to put the FP on a switched 12V source or just use a toggle switch.....but I dont want to!!

There should be 2 green/white wires coming out of the C220 plug... One is for the fuel pump signal, but the other is for vehicle speed signal...

As you face the business end of the male plug with the securing clip pointing up... I believe you want the green/white that is in the 2nd slot from the left in the top row... The second from the right on the top row is for the speed signal...

Hope that helps...

You were right! I thought I tried that other green/white wire as I already had it spliced open. I guess I didnt try it though. I really appreciate it! I can finally go to sleep now. hehe Thanks!

You're welcome... Glad you got it working!

How far along are you on the project? Is the drivetrain all mounted up?
