Loud clunks from rear.. please help Posted By: cjk35 On: 05-12-2008 @ 16:47:00 Reply | Edit Ok.. I have tried to narrow it down and eliminate one thing at a time. I will list the facts. I had transmission rebuilt for performance recently along with new moser rear axles and richmond 3.73s and detroit locker posi. a few months after, it started making a clunk when going from neutral to drive / reverse. since then it has gotten louder, and now happens when going over bumps and upon slowing down(clunks) i have replaced / checked -alum drive shaft, and precision u joints from summit put in. -Have replaced trans mount with prothane -added a tubular panhard rod -spohn tq arm (just tightened again) *** ^^ (one thing could be pinion angle maybe, ive tried doing this with car jacks) -checked stock LCA bushings -tailshaft has a little bit of play in it things im going to do soon - shocks - motor mounts is it possible all the noise is coming from the tq arm shifting and now it is rubbing on the bottom of the floorboard instead of the stock mount place? i really have no idea what to do from here, and the noise is so frustrating.. any advice would help.. thanks -- Black 94' trans am GT ram air hood, y pipe ,pacesetter quiktrip headers, MSD opti , MSD coil, msd 6al box , 3 " flowmaster dual exhaust /w 3.5" tips, K & N cold air intake, bored & polished MAF, relocatied IAT, coolant throttle body bypass, edelbrock 52 mm throttlebody, egr block off, 18 chrome Z06 Wheels, pcmforless tuned, performance rebuilt tramsmission /w 2800 stall, 3.73 gears, holley fuel pressure regulator, hid foglights, clear front and rear sidemarkers with blue LED's, 15% black tint, Headlight conversion, honeycomb tail lights /w blackouts. 4400 watt MA audio HK802sx 1 orion hcca 2 15 5000 watt , 5 farad power acoustik cap, 2 red top optimas , 0 ga wires from hood back, ohio generator high output alternater -- Black 94' trans am GT ram air hood, y pipe ,pacesetter quiktrip headers, MSD opti -.5 degree timing advance, MSD coil, msd 6al box ( not yet installed), 3 " flowmaster dual exhaust /w 3.5" tips, K & N cold air intake, bored & polished MAF, relocatied IAT, throttle body bypass, edelbrock 52 mm throttlebody, egr block off, 18 chrome Z06 Wheels, pcmforless tuned, performance rebuilt tramsmission /w 2500 stall, 3.73 gears, holley fuel pressure regulator, hid foglights, clear front and rear sidemarkers with blue LED's, 15% black tint, Headlight conversion, honeycomb tail lights /w blackouts. 4400 watt MA audio HK802sx 2ch amp /w 2 audiobahn immortal 12's, 5 farad power acoustik cap, 2 red top optimas , 0 ga wires from hood back, ohio generator high output alternater, 160+ DB's! How do you like it, much trouble to install & do you think it's worth the money? Hope you get some real helpful advice! Unfortunitly some of the respondents just what to see them selves on line.
