...a bunch of people arguing over whether synthetic transmission fluid is actually worse for the 4L60E than regular fluid. Apparently some think that the synthetic is more "slippery" therefore causing premature tranny failure. I just put a fresh tranny in mine last night and bought synthetic. I haven't put it in yet, but now I'm just wondering what people think. Should I just stick with regular old DM III?? Thanks.

I used this in my rebult 4L60E in my 94 formula.
The transmission had less than 5k miles on it when I did the fluid change to the b&m synthetic. It didnt make it to 6k. Weather it was failure due to a bad rebuild or the tranny fluid is subjective.
I think there is a reason that the synthetic tranny fluid hasnt caught on. If it was great stuff, it would be all over the boards, but you just dont hear anyting about it.
Stick with what works. This way your not second guessing yourself.
