opti issue - not sure Posted By: igoslow2 On: 05-09-2008 @ 23:54:55 Reply | Edit Well my 95 TA sat for 2 weeks and i go to crank it to drive it to work today and it seems that it isn't getting any spark. There were no symptoms prior to this morning (and I replaced the opti just over a year ago) It turns over well but never hits until I let off the starter and it seems to "stutter" almost like a carb will "diesel" - that was strange to me and has me confused....any ideas? It is definitely getting fuel (based on the smell at least!) This would be the third opti.....the others went out gradually or at least kicked some codes... If it is the opti - MSD or ACDelco? Check to make sure the connector on the OPTI is not corroded. AC Delco OPTI - Always.  --

Pull a plug, connect the wire to it, and with rubber (or other elec safe type) plyers hold the threads of the plug against the block or some other ground and have someone hit the key... You should see it make little zappies... --
