Twin turbo build

Posted By: tylert14 On: 01-09-2008 @ 17:43:46         Reply | Edit
Hey guys, I just wanted to share a few pics of the TA this winter. It's getting a forged 383 with splayed 4 bolt mains, a GMPP intake and blow through carb, stock heads, etc. trying to have it done for the shootout!

Very nice, but I sense some exhaust leaks in your
future! ;P

What do you have in mind for suspension and traction?

Nah there shouldn't be any exhaust leaks...

What's this traction you speak of?

I have a 9 inch and I'm switching to 3.50 gears. Tubular LCAs, Custom adjustable body mounted torque arm, MT ET Streets on WS6 rims, and Koni shocks and 1Le springs. It's not a track only car. I'll probally just play with the adjustments on the konis and remove the front sway bar at the track.

"Nah there shouldn't be any exhaust leaks..."

You missed the humour about the tach welds , but
that's OK... I wont quit my day job for comedy.

Koni's are some serious shocks, they should do well
for you.

Is the rear diff. centered in the photo? Are you
planning to flare the fenders, or shorten the axles?

Not flaring the fenders or shortening the axles.

You didn't catch my reverse comedy, I'm not a comedian either though

Lol I doubt it's centered in that pic, the only thing holding it on was the LCAs and a floor jack. I just had it up there to test fit the TA.

Don't worry dan the car will be tied together quite nicely once the roll bar gets here and start on that part of the project.

Looks good dude! I hope to fly in for the shootout and be there with skinnies. He's looking for 9.50-9.90's @ 145mph.

Sweet stuff. What kind of turbos are those and how much were they if you dont mind me asking?

There supposed to be the size of GT40-94s. I got them from a place called slowboy racing for 500 dollars. I'm going to have to read up on how to measure turbos so I can find out what they exactly are.

Take the compressor cover off and measure the inducer (the smallest diameter toward the outside of the fins (dimension Dp).

500 for both or for one? What brand are they?

I'm asking this because I have ideas stirring in the back of my mind.

Holset turbos... I bet they are around 60mm each (T60's).

Are those decent turbos? Also, how much power are you, tylert14, looking at making with this turbo setup?

If they really are similar to the gt4094, then they should be able to make in the neighborhood of 900-1000rwhp or possibly more.
