Tuneing Software

Posted By: cmerc On: 12-22-2007 @ 10:28:09         Reply | Edit
I have a '94 Z M6 and I need to get a tune, from what I have been reading PCMforless is the best choice. I have ordered the OBD1 cable from Moates, I have a laptop and need software. Could you guys advise me on what software I need and where to get it from.

i'd order the unlimited tuning package from MadZ28.com,thats what i have and you just pay then send him a order form and he'll email you a tune for your car,it comes with the loading software and everything, its pretty simple and its what i did and my car's running great

Also with a 94 car you can use Free Scan wich is of course a free software program to evaluate your car similar to datamaster. Datamaster is better but you only get 20 trial runs with it.

for 96 and 97 you will have to send the pcm in to have it worked for your mods. Check out the software section at http://www.akmcables.com That will show you bought everything that's out there. 90% of it anyway.

You can change everything just make sure you get the right pcm def file, some 94's were rev b and if you use the regular def file it will be crazy.

A 94 Z28 uses the def. file "EEb" a 95 z28 uses "EE". The program tunercat comes with "ECM_42" def. file but is not compatible with your car. The files run like $20 some odd bucks.
